Leadership

Clemson does not have what many would label a traditional music program, and that means that Tiger Band does not have graduate assistants to help out, Kappa Beta fills the open leadership role to support the band program.

Kappa Beta sets an expectation in our membership education process that brothers should act as leaders by striving for the highest in the way they practice and perform. Leadership development is a main focus in Kappa Beta. We work on leadership during our spring Retreat by participating in several team building activities. The older brothers let the membership candidates take the lead in many of the activities helping them to learn valuable skills from their peers.

To support the band leaders, brothers offer assistance where it is needed and invite them to do the same for us. Other band members can often see Kappa Beta brothers bringing water to practice, painting the field once or twice a week, and helping load and unload the equipment truck and buses during travel. Brothers also can be seen escorting visiting bands back to their buses after home games.
